The
White Cottages in Skerries is located, not near the sea,
but almost on the sea. It has stunning, unbroken views to the Mourne mountains
and Skerries harbour.
Jackie
and the O’Connor family extend great warmth and
hospitality to all their guests. This cosy seaside home is full
of charm and has been the ultimate escape for many guests
who often return again and again.
For a time
to relax gather around the turf stove in the cosy
lounge and read or chat while watching the seals and
seabirds directly outside the window.
In summer,
sip a cool drink on the guest terrace and watch
the boats sail by. While The White Cottages enjoy such a
peaceful location all the amenities of Skerries town are
within walking distance.
In 2006 The White Cottages received an award for ‘Best Presented
Bed and Breakfast’ and also in 2004 and 2006 received a merit award
from Failte Ireland for a special contribution to the Irish Tourism Industry.
Guest Review
"This is a nice place to stay with separate entrance and kitchen
for the B&B guests. We stayed in the Captain's Room because it has
direct access to the deck. There are lots of tide pools that you can explore
when the tide is out. When the tide comes in, you're right on the water.
We walked into Skerries and ate at the local restaurant, Stoop Your Head,
and drank in the local pubs. It's a safe area with lots of locals out
at night. The host makes great scrambled eggs with various sides. The
separate kitchen/ sitting area is available to guests which makes it more
comfortable. The host is very helpful and recommended a better iteneary
than we had planned. It was a nice experience. Located about 30 minutes
North of Dublin, 30 minutes South of Dundalk. The parking lot was very
tight for an American driver. Our host kindly got our car out for us!"
