This is what Anne O’Shea our course director said to me one day and I didn’t believe her, now I find myself repeating the same thing to so many people.
Anne is a fully qualified teacher with over 20 years experience teaching adults, both beginners and advanced.  Her versatility means that you choose your preferred medium.

At the White Cottages we decided to branch into painting holidays because our location is so perfect and inspirational.  We currently run two art classes each week which are fully attended and are established over 15 years.

Skerries is an idyllic hideaway on the coast only 20 minutes from Dublin airport  The scenery is very diverse with coastal as well as rural aspects.

CLASSES
Classes are kept to a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 students.  This ensures that everyone gets individual attention from Anne. The class includes instruction and workshops as well as field trips weather permitting.  Our painting classes are conducted in English and are aimed at  all skill levels so you will always feel comfortable and competent.

SCHEDULE
- DAY 1 -
Arrive pm day 1 at The White Cottages.
We will meet for a chat and a glass of wine or Irish Coffee and finalise our plans for the next 2 days.

- DAY 2 -
08.30-09.30  Full Breakfast
10.00-12.30 Painting on site
12.30-14.00 Lunch at The White Cottages
14.00-16.00 Continue with painting class
18.00 Dinner (at The White Cottages or local Restaurant)

- DAY 3 -
08.30-09.30 Breakfast
10.00-12.30 Painting class on location weather permitting.
12.30-14.00 Picnic lunch.
14.00-16.00 Continue with painting class
18.00-19.00 Framing, packaging of artwork and farewell drink.

Would you like to bring a friend or partner not participating in the art class?
This is not a problem as there are lots of activities in Skerries that may interest them and remember that Dublin city is only 35 minutes by rail from Skerries.

ARTIST/TEACHER
Anne O’Shea is a native of Skerries village and lives in Skerries with her husband Maurice, also an artist and her 2 children Avril and Heather.  Anne is most competent in her work and her art classes are in great demand by people in the Dublin area.  Anne has contributed to many community projects including “Towers of Cloth” a rejuvenation project in Dublin..  Anne received 1st c lass honours degree in Art and Design in the college of Marketing and design in Dublin and majored in painting.

Anne has taught Art to students in colleges throughout north county Dublin and has been highly commended for her work with people with special needs.
Anne’s work has been exhibited in the Guinness Hop Store and many galleries. Anne has been tipped as a good investment in art circles in Dublin, she is indeed a prolific artist and competent teacher.
