If you want somewhere idyllic overlooking the sea, this is it! The excellent welcome, food, and cleanliness of this family establishment is the best on earth. And watching the seals swimming by in the bay really does make your day! Jackie and Joe have had us stay a few days almost every year for the past nine years and we shall continue to keep coming for an excellent few days to chill out.
Room Tip: All are great, comfortable & beautifully clean

We arrived at the white cottages with high expectations after reading the reviews posted here and we were not dissapointed. The location, perched over the rocky seafront, was georgous. The cottages themselves were immaculate and full of homely little bits and pieces and Joe and Jackie were brilliant hosts making our two young children feel immediatley at home.
The breakfast was amazing, all locally sourced and cooked at the last minute, I've never seen 'dippy eggs' offered anywhere else.
What really struck me was how quiet it was, there was another family staying at the same time but all you could hear was the the sea. I really can't reccomend the White cottages enough, we'll definately be back.

We were staying in White Cottages, with our two toddlers, as we had to travel to Skerries under quite difficult circumstances. Staying in the cottage made it so much easier though. There was a lovely garden overlooking the sea for the kids to play in, some lovely duck friends, and Joe and Jackie were so kind to us.
The cottage was lovely and clean, and had everything we needed. They even unpacked our online shop for us, one we had ordered for our arrival, but it arrived a bit earlier.
We had lovely cooked breakfasts there in the morning as well.
Thank you so much, you were so kind to us, and it was such a lovely place to stay, and a really beautiful location. We were so touched by your kindness and generosity. And we hope to see you again sometime.
I definitely recommend this place to stay in you are thinking of holidaying in Skerries, with our without young children. Its beautiful.

The White Cottages is one of our favorite places to stay ever! Idyllic, charming, and ideally situated right on the water in Skerries, a mere half an hour from Dublin, with plenty of local color and great food options. The bedrooms are a little small, but well appointed, and the lovely sitting area, dining space and fully stocked kitchen make the whole place feel like home. The patio is such a wonderful place to sit at any time of the day, and those views!!! Joe and Jackie could not have been more helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was fabulous - we cannot wait to go back! |

We travelled to Skeries by motorcycle, and after a long journey over 2 days, when we turned the corner on the Balbriggan Road and caught sight of the most attractive bright white cottages nestled right beside the water, is brought a wry smile of relief. It just got better, when Jackie came out, a welcoming smile and the offer of a cuppa and some chocolate biscuits just topped off our delight.
The rooms were great, clean, bright and comfy, and both Joe and Jackie looked after us as if we were long lost friends, and friends they became throughout our stay. The breakfast was first class, and the whole experience just amazing, we can't thank them enough, and were sad to leave, but we will be back......

This was our favorite B&B on our two week trip around Ireland. We stayed our last night here instead of in Dublin as this is a short (and easy) drive to the airport.
The house is constructed perfectly for a B&B with a separate half for guest rooms and a common guest area. We stayed in a beautiful room overlooking the bay with glass french doors opening to the huge shared balcony. The owners were ready with town maps and recommendations. It is about a mile level walk to town, either along the beach or road. We came back from dinner to a fire in the fireplace...so thoughtful!
There was only one other couple staying that night, and we spent the night playing cards with them in the guest common area (so tastefully decorated! did I mention that yet?). Breakfast was pleasant, definitely the freshest and healthiest on our trip. After we settled our bill, the owners gave us a handwritten thank you note with a couple of chocolates from a local vendor. If I can make it back to Ireland I will definitely stay here.

My self and my partner stayed in The White Cottages from Thrusday until Sunday. We flew in from England in the afternoon and had a very quick and easy journey from the airport. We were greeted on our arrival by Jackie O'Connor, who made us feel very welcome. We were shown to our room, which had wonderful views directly out on to the sea. The room was beautifully decoriated with crisp white linen.
The breakfast and lounge area was very tasteful and had a lovely beach feel to it. The weather wasn't great during our stay but the heating from the burner in the lounge made you feel very cosy and comfortable looking out to the sea. Breakfast was excellent with a varied choice and a very relaxed atmosphere. Skerries is a beautiful town with wonderful places to see and enjoyable walks either on the sea front or around Ardgillian Castle. Jackie and her family were very welcoming through out our stay without being intrusive.
They gave us some lovely suggestions on where to eat locally and places to see. The seafood is to die for in Stoop Your Heads on the Harbour. We can't wait to go back this year in the summer and hopefully we will have some sunshine to perfect our holiday. I would recommend anybody to stay at the White Cottages for the perfect getaway.
